Miami’s Lil Pump Makes Forbes List
Expelled from multiple school districts and kicked out of high school in the tenth grade, Lil Pump has finally graduated to a bigger platform. The 17-year old Miami rapper made the jump from SoundCloud to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 with his single “Gucci Gang,” earning him a spot on Forbes’ 2018 list of Hip Hop’s Future Moguls–and rightfully so.
In June of 2017, Lil Pump signed a record deal with Tha Lights Global and Warner Bros. Records. Just four months later, he released his debut commercial mixtape which featured notable artists such as Gucci Mane, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz.
Other artists included on the list were Post Malone, Cardi B, 21 Savage, Playboi Carti and Tyler, the Creator to name a few. Only ten acts were chosen to be on the Forbes list and this year’s was said to be more diverse than usual. In fact, the list was formerly known as Hip-Hop Cash Princes but with 30% of the chosen acts being women, the name was changed to Hip-Hop’s Future Moguls Class of 2018. All artists are under the age of 30 and on their way to one day landing on the Forbes’ Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Acts, rubbing elbow with the likes of Diddy and Jay-Z.
Be sure to catch Lil Pump and 21 Savage at Life in Color Miami on Sunday January, 14, 2018!
